At Pleasant Grove, our United Methodist Youth Fellowship is simply referred to as the Youth Group. Youth group members are students in grades 6 to 12. Although our church is located in the north Forsyth area, our students represent many of the middle and high schools within the wider region.
We meet two Sunday evenings a month between 5:30pm-7:00pm. We begin each meeting with a snack dinner followed by a Bible Study program and ending with some sort of recreation.
Each spring we try to schedule a Lock-in as well as attend Spiritual Life Retreat at Camp Glisson in Dahlonega. Our Confirmation Class also takes place in the spring in which the students prepare for church membership.
Our mission projects include gathering Christmas presents for a needy family and collecting money for the church Food Pantry on Souper Bowl Sunday. The Youth Group also participates in some of our church mission projects, which include Operation Christmas Child and the Honduras Mission.
Our meeting months are based on the school year calendar, so when possible, we participate in a local summer mission project |
